Scott Eskenazi Wins WPT Rolling Thunder Main Event
Scott Eskenazi has added his name to the illustrious string of WPT Champions by taking down the WPT Rolling Thunder Main Event at California’s Thunder Valley Casino resort. The tournament had a $3500 buy-in and attracted 590 entries, making the prizepool $1,888,000. Eskenazi's win was worth $361,660 and included a trophy created by David Arsham.
Eskenazi, from Mercer Island, Washington, also won a seat in the WPT® World Championship. WPT CEO Adam Pliska described the event as breaking WPT and venue records in multiple categories.
Eskenazi's victory was a significant achievement, especially considering the strong field of players he faced. He commented afterwards, “Feels awesome. It was great. It was an educational experience. I’m still a rec player, but I learned a lot.”

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
