Scientific Games to Revamp WCLC's Retail Operations with Cutting-Edge Technology
Scientific Games will modernize in-store transactions and streamline operations for WCLC in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta. More than 5,000 retail outlets across these provinces will be modernized with Scientific Games' retail technology.
The modernization initiative includes retailer terminal software, WAVE retailer point-of-sale terminals, and PlayCentral retail self-service kiosks. These technologies are designed to enhance player engagement and support the long-term sustainability of lottery revenues across the region.
The total sales result for WCLC in 2025 was $1.56 billion, the second-highest in its history. Michael Cardell, Scientific Games' Senior VP, Commercial Strategy and Growth, expressed excitement about the new collaboration, stating that Scientific Games is honored to contribute to WCLC's leadership. Chris Santschi, WCLC's President and CEO, acknowledged the strategic investments in modernizing operations and engaging with Scientific Games.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
