Sam Greenwood Wins High Roller WPT Amsterdam 2018
Sam Greenwood, a 29-year-old Canadian poker pro, had a remarkable start to 2018, winning his third high roller tournament of the year at the High Roller WPT Amsterdam. The tournament, which had a buy-in of 6,000€, saw Greenwood emerge victorious, taking home 155,000$.
In the final, Greenwood faced off against some of the world's top poker players, including Ryan Riess, William Givens, Rainer Kempe, and Thomas Muehlecker. Greenwood not only started the final with the largest stack but also eliminated all four of these high-profile opponents one by one.
Greenwood's impressive performance at the High Roller WPT Amsterdam adds to his already substantial live earnings, which now exceed 9,350,000$. Of this amount, over 2,350,000$ has been won in 2018 alone, making it one of his most successful years to date.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
