Romeopro Reveals $3.5 Million in Debts, Plans Ambitious Comeback Marathon
Poker player Romeopro, known for his high-stakes games, has revealed that he has accumulated $3.5 million in debts. In a post on the 'Arbitrage' forum, he detailed the reasons behind his financial struggles, including high living expenses, a poor run at high stakes, and excessive self-confidence.
Romeopro's journey in the poker world has been eventful. He began a charitable marathon in 2016, aiming to show $1.5 million profit on Sharkscope and donate $1 million to charity. He even surpassed his goal, but his financial troubles persisted. In April 2022, he announced a new marathon, aiming to win $5 million in 666 sessions. However, this marathon was cut short due to personal issues.
Despite his financial struggles, Romeopro remains optimistic about his future. He has set an ambitious goal to play around 220 days this year, aiming to reach 50,000 tournaments played. To manage his bankroll and reduce the impact of high variance, he has started selling stakes in tournaments. His current bankroll stands at $7,504, with a low point of $2,876. Romeopro's ability to play such high volumes in the plus remains a topic of debate among his peers.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
