Raúl Páez and Ana Márquez Make Waves at WPT L.A. Poker Classic

Raúl Páez has had a strong start to the year, winning numerous prizes both online and in live tournaments. Páez won the Sunday Rebuy for $73,784 in January. He also finished 4th in the Sunday Warm-up on PokerStars.com, winning $71,261.

Meanwhile, Ana Márquez finished 20th in the WPT L.A. Poker Classic, winning $43,180. Márquez was the only Spanish player left in the tournament and attempted to boost her stack with 4 4. However, Naoya Kihara's A K hand, which included a second king on the flop, eliminated her just two positions away from the top 18, who will play the fifth day today.

Another Spanish player, Carlos Mortensen, also had a notable finish, coming in 55th and winning $18,360.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
