Raúl Mestre has secured his place among the top 16 players at the EPT San Remo, with a strong performance that has him aiming for the final table. Mestre finished the day in second place in chips, behind Jordan Westmoreland, who leads with 3,074,000 chips.
Mestre's day started with a challenging hand against Jordan Westmoreland, where he lost half his stack attempting a bluff. However, he quickly recovered, eliminating Lobzhanidze by hitting a full house of queens and fours on the river. His stack fluctuated throughout the day, but he managed to recover from 455k to 840k chips.
In a notable hand, Mestre faced Kravchenko with 684Q4 on the board and a 4 on the river, completing a full house with eights. He also won a significant hand against Fundaro with AK against KQ, increasing his stack to 279k. Mestre finished the day with 1,776,000 chips, setting the stage for an exciting continuation of the tournament. Other notable players who finished the day include Victoria Coren and Lukas Berglund, who will also be at Mestre's table. Unfortunately, Mikel Gurrea and Pedro Pellicer finished 28th and 30th, respectively, each winning €13,150.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
