PokerStars Reverses Rake Increase, Keeps Spin & Go Changes
PokerStars, the world's largest poker room, has made a surprising move by reversing its recent rake increase, with the exception of Spin & Go. This announcement came as a new year's gift to players, who started noticing the change in their earnings the day before. The official confirmation came from PokerStars manager Steve, who posted on the 2+2 forums.
ChicagoRy, the owner of HUSNG.com, had earlier confirmed that the rake reduction was not a system error, although he was unsure about the duration of the promotion. In his post on the 2+2 forums, Steve clarified that all recent rake structure changes, except for those related to Spin & Go, have been reversed. He also mentioned that PokerStars may introduce additional commission fees for players from countries with special tax conditions in the future, but not earlier than June 2015.
Steve also noted that the changes do not apply to isolated PokerStars sites in Italy, Spain, and France, which will continue to operate under their own rules. The reversal of the rake increase was first announced in October 2014, with changes to Spin & Go remaining in effect.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
