PokerStars' Peter Jackson Sees Surge in Online Poker Revenue
Flutter Entertainment, the owner of PokerStars and Paddy Power, completed an $11.4 billion merger to create the world's biggest online betting company. This merger has positioned Flutter Entertainment at the forefront of the online gambling industry, with a significant increase in revenue from online poker and casino offerings.
According to an interim trading report, Flutter Entertainment's revenue from online poker and casino offerings increased by almost 50% to £1.5 billion. This surge in revenue is attributed to a significant increase in player numbers as people sought new ways to entertain themselves while staying at home. Peter Jackson, the CEO of Flutter Entertainment, stated that 'PokerStars' average daily gaming customers increased 70% year-on-year in Q2'.
Despite the overall profits for the group suffering, with pre-tax profit falling from £81 million to £24 million, Jackson described the past few months as 'a bit surreal'. Looking ahead, Flutter Entertainment plans to increase investment across the group despite the uncertain outlook with respect to COVID-19. Jackson stated that the diversification of their group means they approach the future with confidence.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
