PokerStars Limits and Other November Changes in Online Poker Rooms
In mid-August, PokerStars introduced a limit of 4 tables in cash games. This move, along with other recent changes, has made the platform less appealing to professional players. Daniel Negreanu left PokerStars in May, and more recently, Liv Boeree and Igor Kurganov announced the termination of their contracts with the poker room. These departures suggest that PokerStars is shifting its focus away from poker.
PokerStars has added short stack spins and accelerated blind growth, and has announced the introduction of anonymous tables. These changes, along with the reduction in the number of professional players, have led to a decrease in the quality of the game. Mobile applications have more active tables than traditional poker rooms due to restrictions in China and other Asian countries, as well as difficulties in the US. However, the game in these applications differs from the standard game in terms of game mechanics and the need to use emulators and make deposits and cashouts through agents.
In November, players can earn additional EV by participating in two major promotions for fast poker players. On partypoker, $91,000 is given away every week in hold'em and omaha. Players participate in one of four rake races depending on their limit. On PokerOk, $100,000 is given away every week in rake races, with an additional $20,000 in freerolls. For those looking to play with American amateurs, Chico network or Asian applications PPPoker and PokerTime are recommended.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
