PokerStars and Full Tilt Clash Again with Overlapping Tournaments

PokerStars and Full Tilt, two of the largest online poker platforms, are once again competing for players with overlapping tournaments. PokerStars has launched the F40 promotion to celebrate their 40 billionth hand. The F40 promotion includes special tournaments, freerolls, and a record-breaking Sunday Million prize pool.

PokerStars' F40 promotion features a variety of exciting events. Every millionth hand leading up to the 40 billionth will award prizes to participants. Additionally, there are special tournaments and a Sunday Million with a guaranteed prize pool of $4,000,000. The promotion also includes 40 freerolls with a total prize pool of $1,000.

Meanwhile, Full Tilt's FTOPS XV series concludes on February 21 with a main event featuring a $2,500,000 guaranteed prize pool. This series started on February 10 and has a total guaranteed prize pool exceeding $17 million. The series includes two new tournaments: $520 NL Hold'em Super Turbo 6max and $216 PLO Heads Up.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
