PokerStars Big Game Premieres with High Stakes and Big Winnings
The first episode of PokerStars Big Game aired on Fox and PokerStars.tv. The episode featured notable poker players and significant winnings, with Tony G winning $95,000 and Doyle Brunson losing $110,000.
Each player started with $100,000 in chips, except Ernest Wiggins, who received his stack for free, and Daniel Negreanu, who bought in for $200,000. The game structure includes pot-limit hold'em pre-flop and no-limit post-flop, with blinds at $200/$400.
Phil Laak praised the game structure, suggesting it should be introduced at the World Series of Poker. Players can buy in up to $500,000, and the ante is $100 per person, paid by the player on the button. The show prohibits the use of sunglasses and hoods, a rule suggested by Daniel Negreanu. The first four episodes of The Big Game are available on the show's website.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
