PokerStars Bans Auto-Seat Scripts: What You Need to Know

PokerStars has officially banned auto-seat scripts, a decision that was heavily influenced by the poker community. The campaign for this ban was initiated by Anton sandr1x on a forum, who composed a template for addressing PokerStars and later translated it into English.

The main criterion for the script's operation is now the number of players sitting at the table, which has led to significant issues for regular players. The use of these scripts was seen as violating PokerStars' rules about third-party software interfering with game logic, as selecting a suitable table is as much a decision-making process as considering a check-raise on the river.

PokerStars representative on the 2+2 forum agreed with the arguments and announced that the ban is already in effect. However, not all players reacted positively to the ban. Some argued that the ban would negatively impact their earnings and the overall poker ecosystem. The banned scripts include Magic Seat, Hiroku Script, and SeatMojo, among others.
