PokerStars Adjusts Rake Structure and VPP System After Player Feedback
PokerStars has announced changes to its rake structure and VPP system for 2012. The changes come after a delegation of professional players from the 2+2 forum met with PokerStars to discuss the proposed adjustments. PokerStars agreed to delay the changes to the rake structure until after meeting with regulators.
The changes include a 2% reduction in rake compared to 2011. New micro-limit levels NLHE $0.03/0.06 and $0.08/0.16 will be added. PokerStars will maintain the Supernova status for 12 months instead of 9. To maintain the Supernova status, players need to earn 6,500 VPP per month.
PokerStars will continue to accrue VPP based on the amount contributed to the bank by each player. Additionally, PokerStars plans to combat sites like PokerTableRatings that publish player information without consent and will introduce a limit on the number of open tables for players who make decisions too slowly.
