Poker-Red Awards 2012: Celebrating Spain's Top Poker Players
Poker-Red, the leading poker news website in Spain, is organizing the first edition of the Poker-Red Awards to recognize the most important figures in poker for the year 2012. The awards will have four categories: Player of the Year Live, Player of the Year Online, Rookie of the Year, and Poker-Red Career Award.
The jury consists of 10 members, including players, casino representatives, online poker room managers, and industry professionals. The jury members are Juan Manuel Pastor, Raúl Mestre, Luis Rodríguez “Turko_man”, Bruno Serra, Marcos del Río, Jaume Font, Gerard Segarra, Basilio Hacha, David Cámara “Luzago”, and Juan de Diego “Juanzo”.
For the three competitive categories—Player of the Year Live, Player of the Year Online, and Rookie of the Year—the jury will cast secret ballots, awarding 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 point respectively to each of the five nominees. The sum of the votes from the 10 jury members will determine the winner. In case of a tie, the jury will vote again on the top two candidates. If the tie persists, Poker-Red will decide the winner.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
