Poker Drama Unfolds: Kaihan Mokri's Refusal Sparks Controversy
In the world of high-stakes poker, drama and controversy are never far away. Kaihan Mokri's recent victory at the Triton Series in Korea was overshadowed by his refusal to play a heads-up match with Ossi Kettola. Mokri cited exhaustion as the reason for his decision, stating that the tournament had left him drained.
Ossi Kettola, however, was not impressed with Mokri's explanation. Taking to social media, Kettola called Mokri a "cowardly bitch" and expressed his disappointment. "Poker is a game of skill, and sometimes you have to push through the fatigue," Kettola wrote. "Mokri's behavior was unprofessional and disrespectful to the game."
Mokri later confirmed his exhaustion but suggested that he and Kettola could play the next day. "I was genuinely tired, but I'm ready to play tomorrow," Mokri said. Despite the controversy, Mokri's victory at the $150,000 buy-in tournament remains a significant achievement. Meanwhile, the main Triton tournament was won by Kristof Fogeelsang, whose appearance sparked a debate about the rules regarding players' attire. Will Jaffe questioned why Fogeelsang's appearance was allowed, while Juan Pardo expressed admiration for Fogeelsang's discipline and concentration. Sam Greenwood supported Pardo's view, noting that Fogeelsang's quick decision-making was more important than his appearance. Joseph Cheong agreed, stating that the heat in the casino made it understandable for players to dress comfortably.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
