Phil Ivey Reveals His Approach to Poker and Observations on New Generation

Phil Ivey, a renowned poker player, recently shared his thoughts on his poker career and the evolving landscape of the game. Ivey is planning to participate in the Triton tournament in Monaco and the WPT in December. He mentioned that he won a bracelet at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) this summer, highlighting that he no longer plays poker as a job but rather for enjoyment.

Ivey noted that the new generation of poker players spends a lot of time working on poker theory. He observed that these players often use poker software for analysis, a practice he does not engage in. However, he appreciates the dedication and hard work of these young players.

Regarding safety and security in poker tournaments, Ivey discussed the importance of these aspects, particularly at WPT events. He emphasized that while he does not use poker software for analysis, he values the insights gained from discussing hands with other top players, such as Jason Koon.
