Phil Galfond's Interview: High Stakes, Poker Friends, and Business
Phil Galfond recently sat down for an interview with PokerTube, where he shared his insights on high-stakes poker and his educational site BlueFirePoker. Galfond emphasized the importance of hiding the strength of your hand when playing at high limits. He also noted that there are only six trainers on BlueFirePoker because good Video on Demand (VOD) writers are rare.
When asked about sponsorships, Galfond mentioned that he has not received interesting offers from poker rooms. This could be due to his limited appearances on TV, as he only played three tournaments at the World Series last year. Galfond is particularly looking forward to the $50,000 8-game tournament at the upcoming World Series, expressing optimism about his performance.
Galfond's approach to poker has evolved over time. He is now more relaxed about the game, focusing on his business ventures and personal life. He mentioned that he is currently working on BlueFirePoker and PokerStatic, spending time with friends, and settling into his new home in New York.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
