Ontario Online Poker Market Sees Record Revenue in March 2026
The Ontario online poker market generated C$6.9 million in revenue in March 2026. This figure marks the second highest month for online poker revenue since the market opened in April 2022, just behind March 2024, which hit C$7.1 million. The market was up 4.5% on the same month a year ago. So far this year, C$18.2 million has been made by operators at the Ontario online poker tables, 7% higher than the same period in 2025.
Despite being a mature four-year industry, the Ontario online poker market continues to show growth. This positive trend bodes well for the upcoming launch of regulated online gaming in Alberta, scheduled for July 13, 2026. The integration of Alberta's market with Ontario's could significantly boost player pool sizes, potentially adding another 25% to the existing player base.
Both BetMGM and FanDuel have applied for licenses in Alberta, with BetMGM Poker Ontario operating on a poker network with bwin and PartyPoker. PokerStars is transitioning to a PokerStars-FanDuel Ontario hybrid and will likely expand into Alberta if liquidity sharing is permitted. Additionally, BetRivers, which offers online casino and sports betting in Ontario, may launch its online poker platform in both provinces if shared liquidity is available.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
