Olivier Busquet Reflects on His Memorable Poker After Dark Hand

Olivier Busquet, a seasoned poker player, recently shared his memorable hand from the 2011 Poker After Dark show. In an episode of The Grid podcast, Busquet recounted his experience playing with KJs against notable opponents including Phil Laak, Howard Lederer, and David 'Viffer' Pitt.

Busquet's hand was played in a $400/$800 cash game, which was a significant moment in his career. He remembered the event vividly, noting that while many hands blend together, some stand out forever. This particular hand was from the early days of his poker career, marking his first televised appearance and one of his largest games to date.

When asked about his composure during the game, Busquet explained that he has different approaches to online and live poker. He found that live poker's slower pace allowed him to stay calm and composed, unlike the faster online games where tilt can build up over many hands. Additionally, the presence of a live audience, including his parents, and the legendary players at the table added to the pressure. Despite the challenges, Busquet managed to keep his cool, a trait he attributed to his respect for the live audience and the legendary players at the table.
