Netherlands Court Orders PokerStars and Bwin to Refund Players' Losses
A recent court ruling in the Netherlands has compelled PokerStars and Bwin to reimburse players with over €400,000 in losses due to a lack of a valid gaming license from the Netherlands authorities.
The Overijssel District Court ruled that the gambling agreements between the players and PokerStars and Bwin were invalid because the sites did not possess a valid gaming license from the Netherlands authorities.
PokerStars has been ordered to reimburse €230,705 in losses, interest, legal fees, and court expenses. Bwin must pay €187,622 in addition to interest and legal costs. The court's ruling is temporarily enforceable, meaning it must be complied with without delay.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
