MunEZ_StaRR: From Warcraft to High-Stakes Poker – A Journey of Mastery
MunEZ_StaRR, known as Sergey "MunEZ_StaRR" Nikiforov, is a prominent figure in the high-stakes poker world. His journey began in 2009 after finishing his career as a Warcraft player. MunEZ_StaRR's poker journey started with $50, which he received from Ivan Demidov, a former professional cyber sportsman.
MunEZ_StaRR's first significant milestone was reaching NL5k on PokerStars. He recalls that his path to this level was not straightforward, especially the transition from NL50 to NL5k, which took about six years. One of the key insights he gained was the realization that even elite players can be unbalanced, which he noticed while analyzing the strategy of Baron.
Run It Once, a platform for poker strategy, played a crucial role in MunEZ_StaRR's development. He was particularly influenced by Ben Sulsky, who was one of the few elite players sharing his knowledge with the community. MunEZ_StaRR's first coach was Matthew Janda, who introduced him to Game Theory Optimal (GTO) concepts. However, he noted that some of Janda's concepts had significant discrepancies when compared to solvers that emerged later.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
