Poker Pro Michael 'The Grinder' Mizrahi Faces Tax Troubles, Loses Properties
Poker professional Michael 'The Grinder' Mizrahi is facing significant tax issues, leading to the seizure and auction of his properties. His tax debt amounts to $339,711 for the years 2005 to 2007. Mizrahi's property, including a condominium in Hollywood and a family home in Miramar, Florida, is being sold at auction to cover tax debts.
The condominium, co-owned with his brother Robert, was purchased for $310,000 in 2005 and sold for an unspecified amount in May 2010. The family home in Miramar, Florida, was purchased for $440,000 in 2005 and had an outstanding debt of $367,359.
Mizrahi's tax issues are partly due to his work with backers, where he had to pay taxes on the full amount won, even though a significant portion went to his backers. Mizrahi's peak poker career years were 2005 and 2006, during which he won significant amounts, including $1,860,000 at the WPT Poker Classic in Los Angeles.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
