Martin Jacobson Wins UKIPT Main Event in London
Martin Jacobson, the 2014 WSOP Main Event winner, added another significant victory to his resume by winning the UKIPT Main Event at London’s Hilton Park Lane hotel. Jacobson secured a £232,300 payday in this event, which featured a £1,399,680 prizepool and attracted 1458 runners.
Jacobson, who is number one on the Swedish all-time moneywinners list, had a remarkable run in the tournament. He started as the short stack but managed to outplay his opponents, ultimately winning against Conor Beresford in a heads-up battle. Beresford, who was the chip leader at the final table, had to settle for £145,120 as the runner-up.
The final table saw some intense action. Olivier Arnault was the first to depart, running into a blind-on-blind cooler against Conor Beresford. Vincenzo Schiavottiello lost a race with pocket 5s against Jacobson’s big slick to exit in 5th spot for £61,330. Jon Kyte finished in 4th place for £79,940, and Martin Caride took the 3rd spot for £103,650. Jacobson’s victory was his 5th 6-figure score since his career-defining win in 2014, bringing his lifetime tournament earnings to $17,443,491.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
