Los Angeles Chargers: Herbert, McDaniel and Super Bowl Chances
Justin Herbert could have his best season of his career with the Los Angeles Chargers. Previous seasons under the leadership of Philip Rivers and Justin Herbert were characterized by sufficient offensive power to be respectable, but insufficient for success in the playoffs.
Changes in Offensive Coordination
The hiring of new offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel was described as a decision uncharacteristic of Harbaugh, and it is expected that he will speed up the game, increase yards after the catch (YAC), and improve positioning and deep passes.
Offensive Line and Key Players
Martie Gerney said the team has satisfied all of its major needs, with the offensive line getting back tackles Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt, plus improvements at center, making them a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Brian Baldinger noted that the Chargers' offensive line last season was 'shameful' in the loss to New England due to an inability to recognize blitz schemes, and the new offensive line coach Butch Barry, who worked with McDaniel in Miami, is considered overly talented. It was also noted that third‑round rookie running back Kion Mitchell could become a secret weapon, and fourth‑round pick Brennan Thomson is expected to become an immediate deep threat.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
