Koray Aldemir Wins WSOP Main Event; WSOP Moves to Strip in 2022
Koray Aldemir won the Main Event of the WSOP, earning $8,000,000. The German player had to work hard to secure the bracelet, but he ultimately added his name to the history books by defeating Geroge Holmes in the heads-up final, joining other champions like Doyle Brunsom, Stu Ungar, or Johnny Chan.
The WSOP will move to the Strip in 2022, with Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino serving as the new venues after 17 years at the RIO.
Sergio Aído won a $25,000 bet against Chris Brewer after the conclusion of Day 6. His horses, excluding the final positions of David Cabrera, Chance Kornuth, and Koray Aldemir, had prizes totaling $1,059,000, enough to beat the $900,000 mark.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
