Justin Bonomo Claims $1M Loss to Alleged Online Poker Cheat
Justin Bonomo, a prominent figure in the poker community, has revealed that he lost over $1 million due to alleged cheating in online poker games. He urged the community to support Alex Foxen's efforts to expose cheating despite their differing views. Foxen had accused Ali Imsirovic of multi-accounting and using real-time assistance, leading to his ban from GGPoker.
In September 2020, GGPoker banned 40 accounts, with 13 having their balances confiscated totaling $1,175,305.43. Bonomo mentioned that the infractions ranged from looking at preflop charts to full-on collusion with horses using RTA software. He clarified that the person whose first name starts with 'Ja' is not Jason Koon, implying it could be Jake Schindler.
Bonomo's revelations have sparked discussions about the need for a blacklist to prevent cheaters from participating in major live poker festivals. The pressure from respected high-stakes players is expected to push companies running these festivals to enter discussions about implementing such measures.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
