Jungleman on Black Friday, High Stakes Poker, and the Future of Online Poker
Jungleman, a renowned poker player, shared his thoughts on the Black Friday shutdown of PokerStars, Full Tilt, and UB/AP by the US Department of Justice. He initially reacted with indifference, stating, "I thought everything would be fine and did not realize how bad the news was." He also mentioned that he still has money on his Full Tilt account but did not disclose the amount.
Jungleman's poker journey began with online Sit & Go (SnG) tournaments for $5. He played SnG for about 9 months, eventually moving up to $100. He then transitioned to heads-up cash games and 6-max games. His first cash game limit was $0.05/0.10, and offline he played $0.5/1. He emphasized the importance of playing frequently, discipline, and controlling emotions for success in high-stakes poker.
When asked about the best heads-up cash game players, Jungleman named Isildur, Sauce123, and URnotINdanger2. He also mentioned that he spent about 3/4 to 4/5 of his time playing poker and the rest on theory, discussions with friends, and watching videos. Regarding the future of online poker in the US, Jungleman believes it should allow players from other countries to participate, stating, "I think it's in everyone's interest."

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
