Juliiano Bendinelli Wins Big in Barcelona: 'I Don't Care About Money'
The main event of the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Barcelona set a record with 2,294 entries. This tournament, held over the weekend, marked a significant milestone in the 18-year history of the EPT. The previous record for unique entries was set in 2016, with 1,784 participants.
Juliiano Bendinelli, a 31-year-old Italian poker player, won the main event. Despite having played in major European series for over a decade, Bendinelli's previous largest prize was €100,000, won in a €1,000 tournament in Monte-Carlo in 2013. His victory in Barcelona was a significant breakthrough, showcasing his skills and resilience.
During the final stages of the tournament, Bendinelli's attitude towards money became a notable talking point. When discussions about a potential deal arose, Bendinelli stated that he didn't care about the money because his family has 30 million euros. This bold declaration underscored his confidence and nonchalance towards the prize money, focusing instead on the thrill of the game and the competition.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
