Jens Killonen: The Finnish Poker Pro on His Career and Future Plans

Jens Killonen, known as Jeans89/Ingenious89, has won over $4,000,000 in the past two years on PokerStars and Full Tilt. Killonen started playing poker around five years ago after watching WPT on TV and playing home tournaments with friends. He began online play with freerolls and used his winnings to build his bankroll in Limit Hold'em cash games.

Killonen quickly transitioned to No-Limit Hold'em and within a year was playing $5/10 with shots at $25/50. He considers his victory in the ECOOP main event, where he won $315k, as a major breakthrough in his poker career.

Killonen prefers playing up to 10 tables at a time, finding it comfortable and ensuring a positive expectation at each table. He does not plan to attend the WSOP this year, citing his previous experience where he got stuck in the main event for a prolonged period. Killonen managed to withdraw a significant amount from Full Tilt before its closure, but left 30k and won 150k in the two days leading up to the shutdown. Killonen is happy about the new licensing for PokerStars.eu in Finland, which allows Finns to play without tax concerns.
