WSOP No-Limit Hold'em: Ivan Demidov's Rollercoaster Ride

The WSOP No-Limit Hold'em tournament with a $5,000 buy-in featured several notable players, including Sergey Rybachenko, Ivan Demidov, Lika Gerasimova, and Stas Alekhin.

Ivan Demidov's Early Success

Ivan Demidov started the tournament strongly, doubling his initial stack of 15,000 chips early on. He won a significant pot by making a call with 88 against an opponent's aggressive betting. Later, he won another big pot after making a call with 8s 9s against an opponent on the button.

Key Moments and Players

One of the most interesting hands involved Ivan Demidov playing against Alek 'traheho' Torelli, a known MTT player and finalist of tournament #2 with a $40,000 buy-in. Demidov also faced challenges at his table, including the addition of Phil Hellmuth, who joined after the break and quickly made an impact with his aggressive play style.

Lika Gerasimova's stack fluctuated between 13,000 and 15,000 before Brandon Cantu joined her table, making the game more exciting. Sergey Rybachenko had a tough time at his table, facing strong players like Justin Bonomo and Scott 'mastrblastr' Seaver. Despite these challenges, Rybachenko managed to increase his stack to 18,000 by winning a bluff.

Ivan Demidov's tournament came to an end shortly after the break. With blinds at 200/400 and ante 50, Phil Hellmuth made a bet of 1,100. An opponent re-raised to 3,500, and another player went even higher. Demidov, holding 10-10 on the small blind with a stack of approximately 5,400, decided to go all-in. Hellmuth and the first re-raiser folded, but the third player showed AA, eliminating Demidov from the tournament.
