Isildur1's High-Stakes Poker Journey: A Day of Ups and Downs
Isildur1, the renowned high-stakes poker player, had a day filled with both highs and lows on Full Tilt Poker. The day started with a loss of $33,000 to Tom Dwan in a 200$/400$ No-Limit Hold'em match that lasted only 166 hands.
Next, Isildur1 faced Justin Bonomo, whom he had recently defeated for $568,000. In a one-hour session across six tables of 100$/200$ No-Limit Hold'em, Bonomo managed to win back nearly half of his previous losses, earning $233,521 from 881 hands. Isildur1 then challenged Bonomo to a higher stake game of 200$/400$ No-Limit Hold'em. After just 296 hands, Bonomo increased his winnings by another $35,000, ending the session with a total win of $268,000 against Isildur1.
Meanwhile, Isildur1 found himself playing against Brian Townsend, a coach from CardRunners, in a 200$/400$ Pot-Limit Omaha match. After just four hands, they moved up to a 300$/600$ game. In an ultra-aggressive 934-hand session, Isildur1 lost $651,000 to Townsend, ending the day with a total loss of $959,645.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
