Scandal over hot dog betting at Nathan's Famous contest
Nathan's holds an annual international hot dog eating contest on July 4 at Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York.
Miki Sudo, a 12-time women's division champion, won again last week, and her total number of hot dogs eaten together with her husband Nick Wehry was corrected after the event.
Change in count and bookmakers' reaction
Bookmakers set the over/under for Sudo at 38.5 hot dogs and buns, while the unofficial result showed 34, but the official Major League Eating result changed it to 38.75.
Sudo's official count was changed due to a missed plate, according to MLE co-founder George Shea.
Sudo's husband, Nick Wehry, had an initial result of 40 hot dogs, which was later corrected to 45, exceeding the betting line at most sportsbooks (44.5).
Joey Chestnut's victory and poker context
Joey Chestnut won the men's contest for the third straight year, eating 66 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes, marking his 18th victory since 2007.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
