High-Stakes Poker Action on FTP: June-July Recap
In late June, high-stakes poker games on FTP saw a lull as a group of Chinese businessmen, led by Richard Yong and Paul Fu, traveled to Las Vegas. MalACEsia organized full tables of $400/800 on June 24 and 25, with notable players including HelicopterBen82, Rhje, Trueteller, Denoking, proudlikeagoat, Alex "IReadYrSoul" Millar, and Hak "trex313" Dang.
HelicopterBen82 won $759,811, while Rhje won $296.4k, Trueteller won $242.5k, and MalACEsia won $230.6k. Call_911 lost $661.2k and IReadYourSoul lost $631.3k. Victor Bloom, who usually avoids uncapped NLHE, joined the game briefly and ended the session with a modest loss of $53,658 in NLHE but a significant overall profit of $443.9k.
Isildur won a preflop all-in with queens against kings. MalACEsia quickly recovered his losses against Call_911. Isildur called a 7-bet all-in with Ax Kx against Ax Ax of HelicopterBen82. There was a simultaneous connection drop among players, raising suspicions of collusion. Jane_16, who identified as Call_911/Katya_18, argued that collusion at such high stakes is impractical.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
