Debunking Myths: High IQ Doesn't Mean What You Think It Does
Spencer Greenberg, a doctor of applied mathematics and machine learning specialist, debunked several myths about IQ and its correlation with negative personality traits. High IQ is not correlated with depression, anxiety, neuroticism, hostility, impatience, laziness, or bad habits.
Autism is often correlated with low IQ but can also be associated with exceptional talent in specific tasks. People with high IQ may have lower scores on conscientiousness scales but are better at recognizing emotions from photographs.
High IQ is associated with longer sleep duration, recognizing nonsensical phrases, and less obsession with celebrities. High IQ individuals are more likely to enjoy the process of thinking, make unbiased judgments, and view the world as interesting. High IQ is not necessarily beneficial for poker skills, as the game requires understanding statistics and resisting cognitive biases.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
