Webinar on Spain’s Gaming Industry: Deposit Limits and Predictive Markets
The webinar on the gaming industry in Spain discussed the latest and upcoming regulatory changes, including the recent proposal for a cross‑border deposit limit.
The trial period for the cross‑border deposit limit in Spain is planned to start on September 25 and run until March 25, 2027. H2 Gambling Capital warns that this measure could reduce player spending by an estimated €300 million, as players will not be able to make additional deposits.
It is forecast that market channelization could drop to 74% in 2027 and stabilize at 71% from 2028. Webinar participants noted that Spain’s current regulation leaves room for predictive betting, citing the development of platforms such as Polymarket and Kalshi.
The draft amendment to the Remote Gambling Law includes stricter requirements for player identification to combat tax evasion, a register of approved B2B software providers, and additional advertising restrictions.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
