Flutter's Peter Jackson Steps Down, Kalshi Faces Legal Battles in Utah and New York
Flutter Entertainment's CEO Peter Jackson is stepping down on September 30, 2026. Dan Taylor, a Flutter Entertainment insider, will take over as the new CEO. Taylor is hailed as a trusted insider with an outstanding track record of delivering results, who will focus on building high-performing teams and executing complex international business strategies.
Kalshi, a prediction market, is facing legal troubles in multiple states. New York’s Attorney General Letitia James and Governor Kathy Hochul have filed a lawsuit against Kalshi, seeking as much as $36bn back from the company. The lawsuit claims that the company should pay customers as restitution as well as forfeit illicit proceeds. Kalshi has argued that it is operating lawfully in New York, offering a product that is overseen by federal authorities and not subject to local gaming laws. However, the AG and Governor’s office disagree with this framing and are pressing forward.
A federal judge in Utah ruled that Kalshi can still be subjected to local gaming laws, a major win for the anti-prediction market lobby in the state. Utah has taken a dim view of gambling in general, and the state seems determined to treat this vertical as yet another form of gambling.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
