EPT Prague Main Event: Player Disqualified for Headbutting Opponent
In a shocking turn of events, the European Poker Tour (EPT) Prague Main Event was disrupted by a violent incident leading to the disqualification of a player. Michele Nizzardelli was disqualified from the EPT Prague Main Event after headbutting Ghattas Kortas. The incident occurred during Day 1b of the €5,300 buy-in event which attracted over 1,200 entries.
The altercation began when Kortas, visibly angry after being eliminated, snatched Nizzardelli's hat, leading to a physical confrontation. Nizzardelli responded by raising his fists and eventually headbutting Kortas, causing a visible injury. Security personnel intervened and escorted Nizzardelli out of the tournament room, leading to his disqualification.
In a separate but related incident, Jordan Saccucci, the winner of the 2022 EPT Prague Main Event, was ejected from the Atlantis Paradise Island Casino while playing the WSOP Paradise Main Event due to his recent arrest.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
