EPT Prague: Eugene Zaytsev Leads Russian Contingent with 352,300 Chips

The European Poker Tour (EPT) Prague event is underway, with 95 players remaining out of the initial 584 participants. Among them, 8 Russians are still in the competition, with Eugene "Sven" Zaytsev leading the pack with 352,300 chips.

Ilya Gorodecky, a former world champion in chess under 10, lost his position after a failed long bluff and a couple of lost comparisons. Elky Grospellier was a leader on the first day but lost all his chips on the second. Ilari Sahamies, who helped destroy Isildur1's bankroll, arrived 5 hours late and quickly lost all his chips.

The tournament has an overall prize pool of €2,842,100, with the winner taking home €682,000. The event features a strong field of players, although the star power is not as high as in previous tournaments.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
