Doyle Brunson Criticizes Phil Hellmuth's Dramatic Entrance at WSOPE

Phil Hellmuth made a dramatic entrance at the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) in London, dressed as Julius Caesar and accompanied by models in white clothing. This elaborate entrance drew criticism from Doyle Brunson, who was seated at Hellmuth's table.

In his blog, Brunson expressed his discomfort with Hellmuth's antics, stating, "I was simply embarrassed to be there." He also suggested that the WSOPE should be moved from London to a different location due to the high costs and the small size of the Empire Casino. Brunson proposed that hosting the tournament in different European cities each year could attract more participants.

Brunson also expressed his condolences to the family of Bob Stupak, who passed away the previous week. Despite his criticism of Hellmuth's entrance, Brunson made it to the Top 10 stacks by the end of the second day of the WSOPE. Phil Hellmuth was eliminated from the tournament on the second day after losing to Antonio Esfandiari. After the third day, 36 players remained in the main tournament, including notable names like Matt Gavrilenko, John Kabaj, Erik Lyu, and Daniel Negreanu.
