Poker Pro Dirk Gerrits Reflects on Marathon Success and Future Goals
Dirk Gerrits, a professional poker player, has recently shared his journey and achievements in a marathon challenge. In early 2023, VeniVidi announced a new marathon, aiming to grow from $66,000 to $1 million. However, the initial plan was adjusted, increasing the starting bankroll to $100,000 and the final goal to $1.1 million.
Dirk Gerrits exceeded the $1 million mark in the 39th week of the marathon. He reflected on his financial freedom, mentioning that he felt financially free after reaching $4 million. Despite this, he continues to strive for more, aiming to reach $2 million next.
Dirk Gerrits started playing poker at the age of 14. His parents were initially skeptical about his new hobby, but he persisted and eventually proved his skills. He will be a guest on Joe Ingram's podcast next month, where he plans to share more about his journey and insights.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
