Spain's DGOJ to Grant Gaming Licenses During Semana Santa in April
The Spanish gambling regulator, Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DGOJ), has indicated that gaming licenses will be granted during Semana Santa in April. The exact date is yet to be confirmed, but the regulator has pointed to this period as the likely timeframe for the licensing process.
Jdigital, a digital gaming association, has asked the DGOJ to clarify the taxation of users. Sacha Michaud, president of Jdigital, stated that the taxation of users is an open and undefined issue that needs to be resolved. Michaud also mentioned that the DGOJ is in agreement with this stance.
The DGOJ will prioritize protecting operators from the black market. Additionally, the regulator did not rule out the possibility of opening a new licensing process in 2012 after evaluating the sector following the granting of the first licenses.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
