Denmark Strengthens Fight Against Illegal Gambling Sites
The Danish gambling authority investigated 695 potentially illegal websites throughout 2025. Of these, the regulator blocked 334 sites by court order, and another 36 sites voluntarily changed their activities to comply with the law.
In the case of 178 sites blocked in June 2025, a decrease in traffic of 34% was observed over seven months. This indicates the effectiveness of the blocks, although in some cases traffic did not decrease.
The regulator strengthened cooperation with Teleindustrien to automatically block mirror sites that resume operation after a court block, without additional court rulings. Also, the Danish authorities are focusing on partnership with Apple and Google to remove illegal apps, and are working with social platforms and streaming services to stop the promotion of illegal gambling.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
