David Benefield: Poker Career Highlights and Insights

David Benefield, a seasoned poker player, has had his share of memorable moments and significant wins throughout his career. One of his most notable experiences was his first session playing $500/1k PLO in Bobby’s room around 2007. In this session, Benefield won $200,000, a remarkable achievement given that he had never played at such high stakes before.

Benefield's poker journey is not without its challenges. In 2004, he lost around $10,000 playing Pai Gow at Commerce Casino. This experience, along with others, has shaped his approach to the game and his understanding of risk.

Beyond his poker career, Benefield has a unique personal story. He was adopted at around 2 months old and has limited information about his biological parents. This experience has influenced his perspective on life and competition. Benefield met Tom Dwan on 2+2 and later at the PCA, initially considering him a creative but weak player. He also played a $50,000 chess match against Tom Dwan, which he won. Benefield can beat any limits played in Macau, including 2k-4k PLO/NL.
