Darvin Moon: The Logger Who Won Big at WSOP and Kept His Feet on the Ground

Darvin Moon, a logger from Maryland, made headlines at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event in 2009 when he won $5.2 million. Unlike many who might change their lives dramatically after such a win, Moon continued working at his logging business, managing his leasopilka and maintaining a humble lifestyle.

Moon, who was the second most talked-about player after Phil Ivey, disappeared from the public eye for a year before giving a short interview to CardPlayer. He revealed that he and his wife Wendy continued to live in the same house and work full-time. Moon manages his logging business, working 10-12 hours a day, and has taken on fewer physical tasks, hiring replacements for some roles.

Despite his wealth, Moon has remained grounded. He bought new cars for his family and invested in real estate, including purchasing four homes, three of which he plans to sell after repairs. Notably, he bought back the farm in Maryland where he grew up. Moon's financial situation has improved significantly, but he remains committed to his responsibilities, ensuring his employees have job security.
