Daniel Negreanu Shares His Views on Poker's Evolution and Popularity
Daniel Negreanu has been playing poker for over 20 years. He won his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet at the age of 23. The first WSOP event in 1970 was a small gathering where the winner was chosen by a group vote.
Negreanu won the WSOP Player of the Year award in 2004 and 2013. He organizes a $25k fantasy draft each year, which influences many players to participate in more tournaments. Negreanu holds the top spot in the all-time tournament winnings list.
The Global Poker League (GPL) organizes poker award ceremonies in Europe and America. Poker Masters, a series of high-stakes tournaments, will be held in September. The best player in the Poker Masters series will receive a purple jacket.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
