Damian Salas Wins WSOP 2020 $10k Main Event: A Million Dollar Victory
Damian Salas won the WSOP 2020 $10k Main Event, earning $1 million. Salas defeated Joseph Hebert in a heads-up finale to win the event. Salas qualified for the event through the GGPoker/Kings Casino route, winning $1,553,256 in mid-December. Joseph Hebert, from Louisiana, won through his own tough final table at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
Salas and Hebert both had $1.5 million paydays before the final heads-up battle. Salas defeated Brazilian Bruno Botteon to book his spot in Las Vegas. Covid-19 paperwork delayed Salas' entry into the US, pushing the final to after New Year.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
