ClubWPT Gold Exits New Jersey: What Happens Next for Players?
ClubWPT Gold, a prominent sweepstakes poker site, has officially withdrawn from New Jersey following a new bill signed by Governor Phil Murphy that forbids the sweepstakes wagering model. The operator updated its FAQ section to inform players to place a redemption request for any Sweeps Coins they might still have on the site as soon as possible.
However, the operator is experiencing delays processing redemption requests from New Jersey players. Despite this, ClubWPT Gold remains committed to finding a legal solution for all affected players. WPT President and CEO, Adam Pliska, appeared before the state legislators in June to defend the sweepstakes model and lobby for regulation.
With ClubWPT Gold's exit, New Jersey players’ options are limited to state-licensed sites, such as PokerStars US, WSOP Online, BetMGM Poker, and Borgata Poker. ClubWPT Gold was the last remaining sweepstakes poker site operating in New Jersey. The operator has big plans for the US market, at least in those states that aren’t actively looking to get rid of sweepstakes poker.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
