Charlie Carrell Talks Poker Career, Fatigue, and Online Hacking on Tipsy Tips
Charlie Carrell, a professional poker player, was a guest on Scott Lenter's YouTube podcast Tipsy Tips on November 12, 2017. During the episode, Carrell discussed his recent experiences in the poker world, including his performance at a final table where he played only one hand and finished in 9th place.
Carrell has had a successful career in offline tournaments, winning between five and seven million dollars. He shared his experience at the WSOP Europe final table, where he struggled with fatigue despite leading in chips for most of the second day. He mentioned that his playstyle relies more on reads and exploitation rather than GTO (Game Theory Optimal) strategies.
Carrell also talked about his preference for closed cash games in Europe and the Bahamas over online poker. He shared a memorable story from his first Twitch stream, where someone hacked into his computer and stole $1,000 during a break. The incident involved using Teamviewer, which allowed a friend to control his mouse, and a viewer taking advantage of the situation to access his casino account.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
