Brendon Shak-Harris: The Poker Enthusiast with a Creative Mind
Brendon Shak-Harris, a 33-year-old poker player, lives in Chicago, Illinois. He prefers to play a mix of 12 different poker games, including Pot-Limit Badugi and Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo. He was introduced to poker by Matt Bellamy, the lead vocalist of the band Muse. Bellamy taught him the rules and played a one-on-one match to convince him to join their tour for the album Absolution.
Shak-Harris's best month in poker was June 2014, when he won a PLO bracelet and finished second in a $10k Razz Championship. He mentions that his Twitter handle is @Oscillator_WSOP, but he rarely uses it. He believes that Metthew Sorenson, Jay Kwon, Brian Tait, Jeremy Drakman, and Jason Gola are underrated poker players.
Shak-Harris's poker journey is filled with unique experiences and challenges. He shares his thoughts on various aspects of the game, from his favorite games to his notable moments. His creative mind and ability to adapt have helped him improve his game over the years.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
