Expert Tips: How to Beat NL200 Cash Games with Aurora and Kirill 'Marusya'

Kirill 'Marusya' shared his journey from playing NL10-20 with a $100 bankroll to scaling up to NL200-500 over a year. He initially thought cash games were easier than tournaments but found that rake management is crucial for profitability.

Aurora emphasized the importance of knowing the rake in bb/100 for professional cash game play. She explained that the rake on GG Poker is high because it is taken both pre-flop and post-flop, making it essential to play fewer hands and focus on reducing rake to maximize profits.

Aurora also discussed the Prisoner's Dilemma in poker, where both players lose if one exploits and the other adjusts. She advised that professional cash game play involves minimizing rake and focusing on weaker opponents. Playing against other professionals on NL200-500 is not profitable due to high rake, so professional players should focus on playing against VIP players and tilting regulars.
